UNC Asheville Men’s Tennis Travels to Face UNCG This Weekend

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The undefeated UNC Asheville men's tennis team will travel on Saturday, Feb. 16, to face UNCG at 1 p.m.
The Bulldogs hit the road for the first time in the 2019 spring season two weeks ago and picked up wins over ECU and George Mason to go a perfect 2-0 in road matches this season. Overall, the Bulldogs are 6-0 picking up four home wins along the way as well.

UNC Asheville men's tennis defeated Chattanooga, 5-2, on Sunday, Feb. 10 to remain undefeated on the season.
The Bulldogs secured the doubles point early with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. They then would get victories at No. 1, No. 2, No, 4 and No. 5 singles to clinch the 5-2 victory.
No. 1 in the Nation
The national championship-winning doubles pairing of Oli Nolan and Henry Patten have moved up to No. 1 nationally in the latest Oracle Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings that were released on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019.
The duo of Nolan and Patten are currently undefeated on the 2018-19 season. The duo is 3-0 this spring.
Nolan and Patten secured a national championship on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, with a 6-2, 6-1 win over then nationally 42nd-ranked Bjorn Thomson and Parker Wynn of Texas Tech in the championship match of the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex.

Inaugural Tennis Kickoff Reception a Huge Success
The UNC Asheville tennis programs are an incredibly important part of the athletics department and the Asheville community, but there is always room for more people to learn about Bulldog tennis.
For this reason, UNC Asheville tennis held their inaugural Tennis Kickoff Reception at the home of Ron and Nancy Edgerton.
The event was a special meet and greet designed to allow individuals to learn more about the
UNC Asheville men's and women's tennis student-athletes and coaches.

Scouting UNCG
UNCG is 1-1 on the season. The Spartans dropped their first match of the season, 4-3, to Richmond before being on the winning side of a 4-3 score a few days later versus Radford.
Up Next
UNC Asheville men's tennis will take a week off before returning home to host North Carolina Central on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 3 p.m. at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.
