Bulldogs Travel to South Carolina State for Final Nonconference Tilt

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – UNC Asheville's volleyball team faces its final nonconference regular season matchup of the season when it travels to South Carolina State for a 7 p.m., Tuesday, contest at Dukes Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs (8-8, 3-3 Big South) enter Tuesday's matchup after sweeping USC Upstate on the road, Saturday for their sixth sweep of the season.
This will be the second meeting between Asheville and South Carolina State (0-19) as the Bulldogs defeated the Lady Bulldogs, 3-0, at the Justice Center, September 10. As a team, the Bulldogs had a .333 hitting percentage in that match, with Julia Borges leading the way with 10 kills.
Borges has paced the team offensively this season, leading the Bulldogs in kills (155) and points (191), and is tied for second with nine service aces. She also makes a strong presence on defense, as she leads the team with 42 total blocks and is second with 162 digs.
Ansley Rooks also is having a strong senior campaign, as she is second in kills (142) and points (155.5), tied for second in service aces (9) and third in digs (150).
Sophomore Molly Hackett is the third Bulldog with more than 100 kills on the season, entering Tuesday's contest with 125. Senior Kailey Hackett leads the squad with 291 assists, while sophomore Grace Volk has 205 helpers.
Defensively, junior Kasey West leads the team with 197 digs on the season, and junior Cecilia Stack is second on the team with 31 total blocks.
