UNC Asheville Cross Country to Compete at High Point Friday

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville's men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the High Point Vertcross Invitational Friday afternoon in Kernersville, N.C.
The meet will be held at the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex with the women's race beginning at 4:30 p.m. and the men's race at 5:15 p.m.
Last Time Out – Greater Louisville Classic
The Bulldogs posted some impressive finishes in what is one of the premiere cross country meets of the season in the Greater Louisville Classic on October 5 in Louisville, Ky.
Thomas Little paced the Bulldogs with a 68th place finish out of 373 competitors with a time of 24:49.4. Graham Parker wasn't far behind with his time of 25:30.1. John Ciprich and Sage Turner finished a second apart from each other with times of 25:40.3 and 25.41.5, respectively.
Zach Boone wasn't far of the lead set by his teammates with a time of 25:46.9 and Tom German posted a time of 26:30.1. James Clabo was right on their heels with a time of 26:35.1. Walker Lezotte and Nathaniel Edwards rounded out the Bulldog competitors in the men's 8k event with times of 27:16.2 and 27:45.3.
In the women's 5k event, Madeline Nichols paced the Bulldogs with a time of 18:41.5. India Appleton was the next fastest Bulldog with a time of 19:46.1. Morgan Costelloe followed that with a finish of 19:54.2. Alyx Evans was on her heels with a time of 19:57.6.
Ashley Tysiac and Samantha Decker rounded out the Bulldog finishes with times of 20:18.1 and 20:48.1, respectively.

UNC Asheville will be back in action on November 2 for the Big South Championships hosted by Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C.
