UNC Asheville Baseball Hosting Annual Alumni Weekend Festivities
09.21.2018 | Baseball
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – It's a new experience for him, but he is really enjoying being on the alumni side of things.
For Jesse Juday coming back for the annual Alumni Baseball Weekend is all a bit surreal, but he is embracing the opportunity.
"I'm excited to be back on campus and see all of the former players," Juday, who graduated in May of 2018, said. "It's always nice to see former teammates that I have not seen in a few months. I really am just having fun taking it all in from a new perspective."
Juday is just one of many Bulldogs back on campus for Alumni Weekend.
The weekend for UNC Asheville baseball commenced on Friday, Sept. 21 with the alumni playing golf at the High Vista Golf Club.
On Saturday, Sept. 22, the Bulldog alumni are going to participate in the annual alumni home run derby at Greenwood Field before taking in the men's and women's soccer doubleheader.
As always, UNC Asheville baseball head coach Scott Friedholm is just incredibly thankful to host the Bulldog alumni for a fun weekend.
"It's always great getting our alumni back on campus and in the community," Friedholm said. "This year we've got roughly 38 alumni coming back, so it's our second or third-largest group since we've done this. I'm looking forward to having a great day on the golf course, enjoying another great alumni home run derby and then taking in the men's and women's soccer game as a group."
