‘Leaders for Leaders’ Kicks Off Efforts for 2018-19 Athletic Year

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The "Leaders for Leaders" program at UNC Asheville is one of the most crucial components of the athletics department.
UNC Asheville's "Leaders for Leaders" program is unique in that it pairs a UNC Asheville student-athlete with a community member in a mentoring relationship.
Every year the program continues to grow and this year the program has record numbers once again.
In fact, during a special kickoff event to the 2018-19 athletic year for the "Leaders for Leaders" program there were close to 100 in attendance.
The kickoff event for the year was held at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) on the UNC Asheville campus.
"We are so thankful that so many in this community have embraced 'Leaders for Leaders,'" UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone said. "This truly unique partnership gives our student-athletes the chance to prepare for success in life and it gives the community the rare opportunity to help us prepare the student-athletes to become champions and leaders."
