2018 Bulldog Athletic Association Scholarship Golf Classic Set for Aug. 27-28

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The 2018 Bulldog Athletic Association Scholarship Golf Classic will be held Aug. 27-28 at The Country Club of Asheville.
The annual event sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians raises scholarship money for the UNC Asheville Athletics Annual Scholarship Fund.
The cost for an individual player is $500 with team player fees for four $2,000. Hole sponsorships are also available for $1,200, while a tee sponsor can be purchased for $300.
Golfers can choose to play on Monday, Aug. 27, or Tuesday, Aug. 28. Space is limited to the first 200 paid entries.
The 2017 edition of the annual event raised a record-breaking over $106,000. Over the last five years, the BAA Scholarship Golf Classic has raised over $500,000.
"Thanks to the leadership of our golf committee, this event has become one of our biggest fundraisers each year and has raised more than $500,000 in just the past five years for student-athlete scholarships," UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone said. "Our loyal sponsors, golfers and volunteers are Champions and Leaders who annually are making personal investments that help UNC Asheville provide high-impact academic and athletic experiences for our student-athletes.We are looking forward to another great BAA Scholarship Golf Classic."
Registration gets underway at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 27 and Tuesday, Aug. 28, with a shotgun start scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Country Club of Asheville on both days.
At approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27 and Tuesday, Aug. 28, there will also be an "Awards and After Party" after the conclusion of golf each day.
Registration includes greens and cart fees, box lunches provided by Arby's, Pepsi products and ability for prizes for the winners of each flight. There are also possibilities for holes in one for cars, closest to the hole prizes, straightest drive prizes and much more.

Also as an added benefit, players in the BAA Scholarship Golf Classic will also now receive benefits with the Bulldog Athletic Association for the upcoming 2018-19 basketball season. For example, for entering a foursome a donor receives $1,500 in scholarship gift credit, which would qualify them as a "Bulldog" level donor. They would receive benefits, including two Hospitality Passes for the upcoming season.
