ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone recently announced the addition of Meg Nolte as the General Manager of the UNC Asheville IMG Sports Marketing property.
Nolte joins the UNC Asheville athletics department most recently from working at IRONMAN in Tampa, Fla. She brings well over 10 years of corporate sponsorship experience into her role.
"We are excited to have Meg as a part of our team," Cone said. "This is a very important position to the success of UNC Asheville athletics, and Meg has been working extremely hard already to promote the Bulldog brand across the area. If they have not already done so, I am excited for all UNC Asheville fans to meet Meg in the near future."
Nolte is thrilled to be a Bulldog.
"The opportunity to join the Bulldog Athletics Team, our foundation of corporate partners and the vibrant Asheville community is a tremendous one," Nolte said. "I look forward to driving new experiences and memories for our Bulldog fans and community while providing substantial value to our partners."
During her time at IRONMAN, Nolte gained extensive sponsorship experience on a global scale as Senior Director of Partnership Services, Activation & VIP Experiences. At IRONMAN, Nolte established a property-specific Partner Services fulfillment strategy while driving incremental sponsorship revenue and creating and managing an Account Management team as part of the Global Partnerships business at IRONMAN.
A sports enthusiast, Meg experienced the Endurance Industry as an athlete as well. She is an IRONMAN 70.3 finisher and Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon finisher.
Prior to her time working with IRONMAN, Nolte managed the system sponsorship portfolio and market-specific partnerships for a major healthcare provider in Ochsner Health System based in New Orleans, La.
At Ochsner, Nolte drove the development and execution of the system sponsorship activation strategy along with multifaceted marketing campaigns utilizing sponsorship assets to drive revenue and increase consumer perception and brand preference. She most notably managed the official partnerships with local professional teams in the New Orleans Saints of the NFL and the Pelicans of the NBA.
In general, the collegiate multimedia rights space is familiar to Nolte, as she previously worked at the Tulane University property with ISP Sports in a selling and fulfillment role (ISP Sports has since been acquired and is now owned by IMG College).
Nolte graduated from St. John Fisher College with a double major in Sports Management and Marketing. Additionally, she was a Service Scholar and a four-year starter on the women's soccer team.
