Laura Webb to Receive Trailblazer Award at 2018 ‘Our Turn to Play Scholarship Luncheon’ on May 2

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville will honor Laura Webb with the Trailblazer Award at the 2018 "Our Turn to Play Scholarship Luncheon" presented by Wells Fargo on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.
"Laura means a great deal to this community, and her efforts over the years are second-to-none," UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone said. "We hope individuals from the community will join us at the 'Our Turn to Play Scholarship Luncheon' to not only honor Laura as the recipient of the 2018 Trailblazer Award, but also to help the fundraising efforts to support women's athletic scholarships at UNC Asheville."
Laura Webb founded Webb Investment Services, Inc. in 1995, where she serves a select number of clients with independent and experienced financial advice.
The force behind WomanUP in Asheville, Webb is widely-recognized as a leader in the Asheville area with her family name helping to provide service in the fields of insurance and financial management throughout Western North Carolina for more than 80 years.
The "Our Turn to Play Scholarship Luncheon" presented by Wells Fargo is an annual event that helps raise funds for women's student-athletes at UNC Asheville.
The event recognizes the many successes of women in athletics and encourages all to support gender equity.
A donation-based event, the 2018 "Our Turn to Play Scholarship Luncheon" presented by Wells Fargo scheduled for Wednesday, May 2, still has space available. Check-in begins at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, at the Sherrill Center, with the program scheduled to get underway at 11:45 a.m.
To attend the event, you must register ahead of time HERE.
The keynote speaker for this year's "Our Turn to Play Scholarship Luncheon" is Donna Orender, who is the CEO of Orender Unlimited, a Jacksonville-based consulting and advisory firm. A former professional women's basketball player, Orender previously served as the WNBA President and she has also worked with the PGA.
