UNC Asheville Athletics Meets with Board of Trustees, Gives Tour of Athletic Facilities

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – With the Board of Trustees meeting this week, the UNC Asheville athletics department wanted to make sure that they did something a little different with the Athletics Committee.
It's always a great review and look forward each time the Board of Trustees Athletics Committee meets with the athletics department, but for the April 19, 2018, meeting they wanted to make sure that they had the chance to hear from student-athletes and coaches plus tour the athletic facilities.
Before Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone led the tour of the athletic facilities, the Board of Trustees Athletics Committee had the unique opportunity to hear from women's swimming, women's golf, men's and women's track and field and men's and women's basketball.
The head coaches and student-athletes in attendance from the sports mentioned above each gave a quick update about all of the great things happening with their sports.
The Athletics Committee meeting concluded as noted with Cone giving a guided tour of the UNC Asheville athletic facilities.
"It has been a great 2017-18 athletic year so far, and I am thankful that the Athletics Committee had the opportunity to hear from some of our champions and leaders who represent us extremely well," Cone said. "It means so much that the Athletics Committee would take the time to tour our athletic facilities. There is always room to grow in that area to remain among the best in the Big South Conference, and the Athletics Committee taking the time to see our needs shows that they are passionate about the future of the Bulldogs."
