UNC Asheville Men’s Tennis Travels to Furman on Sunday

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team hits the road once again to take on Furman at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11.
UNC Asheville enters the road match at Furman with an even 2-2 record on the 2018 spring season.

Patten Ranked Program-Best 32nd Nationally
UNC Asheville men's tennis standout Henry Patten continued his rise in the national rankings in the latest Oracle/ITA NCAA Division I Collegiate Rankings that were unveiled on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
Patten is ranked a program-best 32nd in the latest national rankings.
The national singles ranking puts him among the very elite in Big South Conference history. Only Radford's Martin Sayer has been ranked higher. Sayer ended his 2006 season ranked No. 31.
Bulldogs Claim Another Big South Weekly Honor
For the third time in his career, UNC Asheville men's tennis standout Henry Patten was selected as the Big South Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
The league office made the official announcement on Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018.
Patten garnered Player of the Week honors from the league office twice last year (Feb. 1 and March 8) en route to winning Big South Player of the Year honors. In total, Patten has collected plaudits from the conference office five times in his career, as he was also named Freshman of the Week twice (March 30 and April 6) in the 2016 season.
Patten is the second Bulldog to earn weekly laurels from the league office this season. UNC Asheville's Oli Nolan was also chosen as the Big South Men's Tennis Freshman of the Week on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
About Furman
The Paladins face two foes on Saturday before playing host to the Bulldogs on Sunday, Feb. 11. Furman first takes on College of Charleston at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, before taking on North Greenville at 4 p.m. the same day. The Paladins are 3-1 on the season entering the weekend with victories over Florida Atlantic, North Florida and Presbyterian College.
