Bulldogs Renew Mountain Rivalry With Appalachian State Saturday in Boone

BOONE, N.C. – UNC Asheville men's tennis will renew the Mountain Rivalry with Appalachian State at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Deer Valley Racquet Club.

Big Win Over UNCG

The UNC Asheville men's tennis team picked up an impressive 5-2 victory over UNCG on Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.

The UNC Asheville (3-3) win started with the Bulldogs dominating doubles over UNCG with Asheville taking all three flights.

UNC Asheville would go on to take four of the six singles competitions to garner the 5-2 victory.

The Bulldogs are currently an impressive 3-1 on the season at home.

Still Undefeated
Henry Patten and Olly Cull with their doubles win in the UNCG match improved to 5-0 on the season. All five wins have come at No. 1 doubles.

About Appalachian State
The Mountaineers are currently 6-3 on the 2018 season. Appalachian State is 3-0 on the year at home.

UNC Asheville will next play host to Wofford at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown. The match is the first of two on the weekend with UNC Asheville opening Big South Conference play a day later by welcoming Winthrop to the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 4.
