UNC Asheville Athletics Continues to Shine in the Classroom in the Fall of 2018

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville's student-athletes put together a tremendous performance in the classroom during the fall of 2018.

In fact, the Bulldogs improved from a 3.16 grade-point average as a group in the spring of 2018 to a 3.242 grade-point average during the fall of 2018 despite having an overall increase of almost 30 student-athletes.

In total, 67 percent of UNC Asheville's student-athletes (155 of 233) finished with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher to earn Honor Roll honors.

UNC Asheville athletics had an impressive 81 student-athletes earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher to earn Dean's List honors, while even more impressively 32 Bulldog student-athletes garnered Chancellor's List accolades with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.

Among the women's sports at UNC Asheville, women's tennis with a 3.675 grade-point average had the best semester as a team. Every women's athletic team at UNC Asheville had a team grade-point average of 3.3 or higher during the fall of 2018.

On the men's side of things, UNC Asheville men's cross country had the best semester with a 3.196 grade-point average during the fall of 2018.

Cone, Director of Athletics, said. "We truly have scholar-athletes that value being champions and leaders in academics and athletics."
