Bulldogs Put Together Strong Saturday at Charlotte 49ers Fall Invitational

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team put together a strong Saturday at the Charlotte 49ers Fall Invitational at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.

In the A1 singles portion of the event, UNC Asheville's Oli Nolan started his day with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 win over Kyle Frankel of Elon. He dropped his next match though to Thomas Brown of South Carolina 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.

In A1 singles, UNC Asheville's Olly Cull dropped his first match, but he did win his next match against Mario Paccini of Elon 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.

In A2 singles, UNC Asheville's Charlie Morkel picked up two wins on Saturday. Morkel first bested Beau Pelletier of South Carolina 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. He then picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win over Elon's Felipe Osses-Konig.

In C1 singles, UNC Asheville's Finlay Ray McFadyen after a bye in the first round collected a 6-1, 6-0 win over Charlotte's Michael Bass. UNC Asheville's James Massie knocked off Wake Forest's Charlie Parry 5-7, 7-6(7), 6-3 in C1 singles.

In A1 doubles, UNC Asheville's Cull and Sirawit Daosaengsawang started their day with a 6-3 win over South Carolina's Patrick Cacciatore and Pelletier.

The Bulldog duo of Nolan and Edward Colclough garnered a 6-3 win over Douglas Macintosh and Camden Mazzoni of Davidson in A2 doubles.
