UNC Asheville Wins 11 Events to Earn First Dual Meet Victory of the Season

RESULTS
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The UNC Asheville women's swimming & diving team posted its first dual meet victory of the season, as the Bulldogs downed North Florida, 141-121, on Saturday afternoon at The Bolles School.
The Bulldogs were again impressive, as they won 11 out of the 14 total events. Of the 11 victories, two were relays and nine were individual wins.

Highlights
UNC Asheville started the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association meet off red-hot, as it won the first three events – 200 medley relay, 1650 freestyle and 200 freestyle.
Consisting of Emma Nelson, Lily Sullivan, Madison Rogan and Morgan Rulevich, the foursome posted a 1:48.52 time in the 200 medley relay.
In the first individual event, Skylar Rogan out-raced the competition in the 1650 freestyle. The junior posted a 17:39.71 time, which was over 25 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
Adee Weller capped off the three straight event victories for Asheville. The Boulder, Colo. native posted a 1:54.95 time. Catherine Allen finished third in the event with a 1:58.05.
After the 100 backstroke, Sullivan downed the competition in the 100 breaststroke. The rookie clocked a 1:07.83, which was over a second faster than second place.
To give Asheville its fifth event victory of the meet, Madison Rogan won the 200 butterfly. She posted a 2:05.73 time, and the result was nearly two seconds faster than North Florida's fastest swimmer in the event.
Rulevich stayed hot in the two-meet road swing, as the senior won the 50 freestyle. She posted a 24.11.
The Ospreys won two straight events (100 free and 200 backstroke) to regain some momentum going into the tenth event of the meet. However, Rulevich (2:25.16) and Sullivan (2:26.89) earned the Bulldogs valuable points in the 200 breaststroke, as they finished first and second respectively.
In the second distance event of the meet (500 free), Skylar Rogan won her second event after claiming the 1650 freestyle victory. In the 500 free Skylar Rogan clocked a 5:08.11 to finish first. Weller was right behind her teammate, as she placed second.
Madison Rogan continued her impressive meet, as she won the next two events – 100 fly and 400 IM. In the 100 fly, the junior clocked a 58.72, and in the 400 IM, she posted a 4:33.35 time.
In the final event of the CCSA dual meet, the Bulldogs swam fast in the 400 freestyle relay. The foursome consisting of Rulevich, Allen, Skylar Rogan and Weller earned a 3:34.98 time and first-place honors.
Overall Madison Rogan paced Asheville with three individual victories, while Skylar Rogan and Rulevich each won two individual events.

After two meets this weekend, UNC Asheville will take a week off and return to the pool for a tri-meet in Davidson, N.C. The Bulldogs will face Davidson and VMI at the Cannon Natatorium on Saturday, Oct. 27. The tri-meet begins at 1 p.m.
