Brne to Serve as Senior Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone announced recently that Terri Brne will now be the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations/Senior Woman Administrator for the athletics department.
"Ever since Terri arrived on our campus, she truly has played an important role in our success at UNC Asheville," Cone said. "She has served on numerous NCAA and Big South committees and works incredibly hard each and every day to help us build Champions in Athletics and Leaders in Life."
Terri Brne is in her 13th year of service to the UNC Asheville Athletics Department and most recently served as Associate Athletics Director for Athletic Operations. Brne is a key advisor to the Director of Athletics and a member of the AD's Senior Team. She directly supervises men's and women's soccer and women's swimming along with assisting the Director of Athletics with Men's and Women's Basketball. In addition, she oversees the NCAA Compliance Program, directs and operates the UNC Asheville Sports Academy camps and programs and plays a key role in the hiring of coaches and staff.
Brne is also the Game Day Operations Manager for all home events and serves as the Host Director for all Big South Championships in Asheville. She sits on several Big South Conference Committees, including Hall of Fame, Championships, Compliance and Cross Country and Track. Brne served on the NCAA Administration Cabinet from 2013-15 and was appointed to the NCAA Nominating Committee in 2016. Locally, she serves on the Board of Helpmate. Brne will be directly assisting the Director of Athletics with implementing the Athletics Department's new strategic plan.
The Illinois native earned a B.S. degree from Illinois State University and a Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Studies from Tarleton State University.
