UNC Asheville Men’s Tennis Travels to Charlotte on Saturday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After a perfect 2-0 opening weekend, the UNC Asheville men's tennis team hits the road for the first time in the 2018 season to take on Charlotte at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27.

UNC Asheville (2-0) opened its 2018 season last weekend by picking up 7-0 wins over Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday, Jan. 20, and Sunday, Jan. 21, at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown.

Nolan Tabbed Big South Freshman of the Week

Oli Nolan of UNC Asheville men's tennis was chosen as the Big South Men's Tennis Freshman of the Week.

The league office made the official announcement on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

A freshman from Birmingham, United Kingdom, Nolan closed out the first two spring matches of his career a perfect 2-0.

In UNC Asheville's 7-0 home win over Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday, Jan. 20, Nolan picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles over the Bears' Tomas Hons. In UNC Asheville's 7-0 win over Mars Hill on Sunday, Jan. 21, at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown, Nolan collected a 6-1, 6-1 win over Mars Hill's Tom Farman at No. 1 singles.

Nolan was 1-0 on the week in doubles with a 6-2 win at the No. 2 position in the victory over Lenoir-Rhyne.

About Charlotte
The 49ers play host to the Bulldogs owning a 3-2 overall record on the 2018 season. Charlotte is 3-0 on the season at home with wins over Gardner-Webb, UNCG and Clemson.
