ASHEVILLE, N.C. – In the lone preseason meet of the year, the UNC Asheville swim team completed its intrasquad meet on Saturday afternoon as the Blue Team raced past the Silver Team 157-95 inside the Justice Center Pool.
BULLDOG BITES
Meet Highlights
Through the first several events the meet was neck-and-neck, but the Blue Team started to pull ahead halfway through the meet and ended up defeating the Silver Team 157-95 in the preseason tune-up.
Quotable
"I was really proud of our captains (Alejandra Sanchez Garcia – Blue Team and Elizabeth Murray – Silver Team). They did a great job working with their teams to make it a very competitive meet.
In the end, the Blue Team had the opportunity to pull away, which was fun to watch, but that didn't mean the Silver Team didn't race hard throughout the meet. I was really happy with how everyone stepped up and swam, even if it wasn't their strongest event, but everyone did a really nice job of being team players.
I was especially happy with Madison Rogan, who did a lifetime-best in the 100 butterfly. I think that is a testament to how many of our team members trained hard over the summer, and you can tell those people apart by how they stayed fit and took care of themselves. They are going to have a great season."

What's Next?
UNC Asheville will open its regular season on Friday, Oct. 6 at Gardner-Webb. The first event will commence at 3:30 p.m. in Boiling Springs, N.C. at the Bost Pool.
