We woke up early for a 7am breakfast and 7:15 departure from San Jose to the rainforest. The hour drive took us through mountains and narrow roads that overlooked 1,000 feet drops. After a quick stop at a souvenir shop we arrived at the whitewater rafting location. We each received a life vest, helmet and paddle and were assigned to a raft. The experience was once in a lifetime and was truly remarkable. We rafted down the river, watching all four coaches and our trainer fly from their seats into the water. We took a quick stop for fresh fruit then resumed the exhilarating trip. After the actual rafting, we were then fed by their staff a delicious meal. It was awesome to eat with the locals and get to know them a little. We then traveled to the hotel we are staying at in the rainforest. They had a great gift shop that a lot of the team took advantage of to get stuff for loved ones. Then, after the gift shop, we made our way to the Baldi Hot Springs where we had another fantastic meal before exploring the various pools. We stayed for a few hours, watching our teammates and coaches take on what coach calls "the most dangerous waterslide in the world." We checked out the gift shop just before heading back to the hotel where we called it a night.Â
