The seedings and pairings for this week's Big South Conference Women's Basketball Championship have been determined following the conclusion of the conference's regular-season schedule yesterday.

Radford claimed its first Big South regular-season championship in 25 years and clinched the No. 1 seed for the first time since 1991-92, as the Highlanders closed the year with a 14-4 conference record -- tying a school record for league victories. As the No. 1 seed, Radford has secured a postseason berth.

Campbell and High Point tied for second in the standings at 13-5, and the Camels are the No. 2 seed based on its season sweep of the Panthers.  It is the Fighting Camels' highest seeding in the tournament since the 1991 Big South Championship, and CU finished the regular season as the league's most-improved team from last season's 7-13 conference mark.

Following No. 3 seed High Point is host Liberty, which is slotted as the No. 4 seed with its 12-6 Big South record. Charleston Southern finished the season at 11-7 and earned the No. 5 seed – its highest since 2012, while Presbyterian College captured the No. 6 seed with a 10-8 league mark.  The top six seeds earned byes into the quarterfinal round.

The opening round will feature No. 7 seed UNC Asheville (9-9 in Big South) and No. 8 seed Gardner-Webb (6-12). Winthrop and Longwood tied for ninth place in the final regular-season standings at 1-17. As the teams split the season series and both finished with identical records against conference opponents, the tiebreak procedure reached the final step of each team's RPI. The Eagles finished four spots ahead of the Lancers in Jim Sukup's College Basketball RPI Report (rpiratings.com) published today, earning them the No. 9 seed, while the Lancers will be the No. 10 seed.

All games will be played at the Vines Center on the campus of Liberty University.  Tickets are on sale at www.libertyflames.com or by calling the Liberty Athletic Ticket Office at 434-582-SEAT (7328).
