BULLDOG BITES
PATTEN PEAKING: Sophomore Henry Patten has started the season with some very impressive performances, earning himself the Big South Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played Jan. 23-29. Coming off a victory over the No. 102 ranked singles player, Scott Webster of Appalachian State, the native of the U.K. is now 5-0 in singles play on the year, winning every match in straight sets.  Alongside Josh Swindler, the No. 1 doubles pairing is 4-1 on the season.Â
CLEAN SWEEPS: Despite last Saturday's loss, the Bulldogs pulled off three consecutive 7-0 sweeps to begin the campaign. Asheville now has swept Mount Olive, Lenoir-Rhyne and Mars Hill this season.
UP NEXT: Following the matches this weekend, the Bulldogs will continue their homestand hosting Radford, in what will be their Big South Conference opener on Sunday, Feb. 19 at the Asheville Racquet Club. Start time is 3 p.m.
QUOTABLES
"Hopefully we will be able to play our first match outside this week. I know the guys are looking forward to it. It is a different dynamic with all six singles matches going on at the same time. It will be important for our returnees to set a good example for our freshmen" - Head Coach Tom Hand
