Three Double-Doubles Lead Bulldogs to Home Win Over Milligan

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – An impressive three Bulldogs finished with double-doubles in UNC Asheville's 97-60 victory over Milligan on Sunday, Dec. 10, at Kimmel Arena.

UNC Asheville (6-4) led from start-to-finish in the contest with the Bulldogs scoring 40 of the first 54 points in the contest.

The Bulldogs would enter the halftime break leading 53-17.

UNC Asheville would go ahead by as many as 44 points over Milligan (4-9) in the second half before securing the largest win of its 2017-18 season so far.

Donovan Gilmore collected a career-best 16 rebounds to go along with his 13 points that allowed him to collect his first double-double as a Bulldog. Gilmore also had four assists, three steals and two blocks.

Raekwon Miller's double-double was the first of his Bulldog career. Miller finished the win over Milligan with career highs in scoring in rebounding with 19 points and 10 rebounds. He also had four assists and one steal.

Jonathan Baehre also obtained his first career double-double in the win over Milligan. He tied his career-best with 13 points and collected a career-best 10 rebounds. He also had a career high with four assists. His four blocks in the Bulldog win tied a career-best.

In total, six Bulldogs finished with double-digit scoring efforts with MaCio Teague ending his day with 15 points and Drew Rackley and Justin Brown each scoring 11. The 11 points were a career-best for Brown.

Aaron Levarity led Milligan in its loss to UNC Asheville with 12 points and seven rebounds.

UNC Asheville shot 46.3 percent (31-of-67) as a team in the contest, while limiting Milligan to just 31.1 percent (19-of-61) shooting.

The Bulldogs shot 42.3 percent (11-of-26) from beyond the arc in the game as a team. The Bulldogs were really strong at the charity stripe on the day, shooting 24-of-28 (85.7 percent) as a team.

UNC Asheville's win over Milligan was its 14th straight home win. UNC Asheville is now 5-0 on the 2017-18 season and 73-16 all-time at Kimmel Arena, including 48-10 in Big South Conference contests.

Double It Up
With the three double-doubles in the win over Milligan it marked the first time since the thrilling double overtime win over Winthrop last year that two or more Bulldogs had double-doubles in the same game. The win over Milligan also marks the first time since that win over the Eagles that five or more Bulldogs scored in double figures in the same game with six Bulldogs securing double-digit scoring outputs against the Buffaloes.

Career Day for Raekwon Miller
Miller's first career double-double was made possible by a day where he knocked down a career-high tying four three-pointers and was 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. He was 5-of-9 from the field overall. His 19 points bested his previous career high of 18 set in UNC Asheville's win over Siena last season. His 10 boards bested his previous career high of seven in UNC Asheville's win over Brevard last year. He has now knocked down four three-pointers in a single game five times in his career.

Block Party
UNC Asheville's 10 blocks in the win over Milligan marked the first time since an 80-55 Big South Conference win over Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at Kimmel Arena that the Bulldogs had blocked 10 or more as a team in a single game.

Assisting Others
UNC Asheville's 22 assists on its 31 made baskets in the win over Milligan marked the third time that the Bulldogs have finished with a season-best 22 assists. The Bulldogs also had 22 assists as a team in wins over USC Upstate and Wofford. Drew Rackley led the way for UNC Asheville against Milligan with a career-best six assists.

Don's Day
In securing his first double-digit rebound day as a Bulldog, Donovan Gilmore picked up six of his 16 rebounds in the game on the offensive glass. He was 6-of-10 from the field overall in finishing with the 13 points.

Tickets are $33.50 for courtside seats and $19.50 for reserved seats in sections 103-109 and 122-128. General admission in sections 101, 130 and all of the balcony are $12.50. Ages eight and under are free and do not need a ticket. Students ages nine and up may purchase tickets for $10 in all areas except courtside seats.

There is also a special VIP ticket available at a cost of $50. Seats are located in sections 122-124 and include access to a lounge catered with snacks, hot dogs, sliders and drinks (non-alcoholic). Two beer/wine vouchers are also included. A cash bar is available for additional alcoholic drinks.

All tickets include admission to both basketball games.

The Mountain Invitational games are not part of UNC Asheville's 2017-18 season ticket package.
