Solid Saturday for Bulldogs at Wake Forest Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team secured some solid wins on Saturday at the Wake Forest Invitational at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.

In the consolation portion of B1 singles, Oli Nolan picked up 7-6 (7), 4-6, 7-6 (4) over Oliver Palmer of UNCG in the semifinals to advance to the finals on Sunday where he will take on Vince Salas of Liberty.

In the C1 singles, James Massie bested Charlotte's Noah Milliken to move on to the semifinals, but Wofford's Omar Williams collected a 6-4, 6-0 win over Massie to advance to the finals. Massie will take on Wake Forest's Pat Hannity in the third place match on Sunday.

Reese Daly will play in the seventh place match in C1 singles against Milliken on Sunday.

In the C2 singles, Edward Colclough bested Radford's Michael Meekers 7-5, 6-2 to advance to the Consolation finals.

Olly Cull will take on Meekers in the 11th place match in the C2 singles.

In the C3 singles it was UNC Asheville's Finlay Ray McFadyen who won the title in the consolation bracket. UNC Asheville's Andrew Sinai will play for a third place finish in C3 singles against Radford's Matko Varga on Sunday.

Cull and Massie finished in third place in the A3 doubles section of the fall event.

Daly and Colclough will play for third place at 9 a.m. on Sunday in the B1 doubles section.
