Current MLB Pitcher and Three-Time All-Star Greg Holland Headlines the Fifth Annual Baseball Night In Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville baseball team will host its annual Baseball Night in Asheville at Highland Brewing on Jan. 19 at 6 p.m., which will consist of live and silent auctions, meet-and-greet with coaches and players and a guest speaker – Greg Holland.
Holland started his professional career in 2007 in the Kansas City Royals organization. The Marion, N.C. native worked his way through the rankings quickly as he made his MLB debut in 2010 at Oakland. He spent the next five seasons as a Royal where earned back-to-back seasons of earning All-Star status (2013 and 2014). In both of those seasons, he found himself in the closer role where he totaled 93 saves and recorded a sub-2.00 ERA in 113 appearances for the Royals. After taking a year off, the Rockies signed Holland in 2017 where he appeared in 61 games and posted a 3.61 ERA including notching 41 saves.
