Game Highlights

UNC Asheville jumped out to a quick lead as it led 16-10 after the first 10 minutes. The Bulldogs jumped out to that six-point lead after a 12-3 run, and during that run, Bronaza Fitzgerald and Nadiria Evans
each tallied four points.

Davidson gained its first lead of the non-conference showdown as the Wildcats out-scored the Bulldogs 17-4 in the second quarter.

At the half, the Wildcats made it a 46-29 advantage behind Justice Lyon's 10 points in the first 20 minutes. The Bulldogs had a three-way tie for the team-lead in points scored as Evans, Fitzgerald and Alexis Toney combined for 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Wildcats padded their lead right out of halftime as it posted 19 points to Asheville's nine. However, UNC Asheville gave Davidson a scare in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs posted 21 points in the final ten minutes. The Wildcats' lead was as high as 19 points in the fourth quarter, but behind a 12-0 run starting at the 7:16 mark, the Bulldogs made it a game as they pulled the deficit to only eight points with two and a half minutes remaining in regulation.

The eight-point deficit was as close as the Bulldogs would get, though, as the Wildcats scored four more points in the final two minutes to put the game away 58-50.

Khaila Webb led the Bulldogs for the fourth time this season in points scored as she netted 12 points including 10 in the second half. Fitzgerald posted a season-high 10 points in the game including going a perfect 3-for-3 in the final 20 minutes. The senior center also posted a season-best two blocks as she was only one away from tying a personal record.

Junior forward Alexis Toney recorded multiple season highs including eight points along with six rebounds in 28 minutes of play at Davidson. Freshman guard Evans had a career game as she knocked down eight points including recording her first career assist.

With the loss, the Bulldogs drop to 0-4 on the year, while the Wildcats advance to 3-2.
