Patten Semifinal Bound at ITA Carolina Regional

CARY, N.C. – UNC Asheville men's tennis standout Henry Patten continued his tremendous run at the USTA/ITA Carolina ITA Regional at the Cary Tennis Park by advancing to the semifinals of the event with two wins on Sunday, Oct. 15.
The eighth-seeded Patten opened his day on Sunday by besting Luis Faria of Coastal Carolina in the round of 16 with an impressive 6-0, 6-1 victory.
In the quarterfinals later on Sunday, the reigning Big South Player of the Year bested 16th-seeded Igor Savelijc of NC State 7-6 (3), 6-3 to advance to the semifinals on Monday.
Patten will now take on 25th-seeded Simon Baudry of Clemson in the semifinals at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 16. The winner will advance to the finals of the regional on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
In moving on to the semifinals, Patten has bested players from Elon, NC State, UNCW and Coastal Carolina.
