ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's volleyball team suffered a narrow loss to the Lady Flames of Liberty University inside the Justice Center on Friday night.

The Bulldogs started strong, winning the first two sets (25-18, 25-8) but the Lady Flames responded with wins in the third and fourth sets (25-22, 25-18).

The Flames took the deciding set 15-9 behind three kills from Leah Clayton.

NOTABLES          

-Cara Guthrie had a season-best 22 kills on 50 attempts to lead the Bulldog offense. Seniors Madison Vaughn (11) and Shelby Erickson (10) also joined Guthrie with double-digit kills.

-Liberty and Asheville were even with 55 digs apiece. Erickson led the Bulldogs with 16 digs, followed by teammate Madisen Zyburt with 15.

-The Flames out-blocked the Bulldogs 10-4.

- The Bulldogs will look for their first conference win against Radford University tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
