ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced today that the UNC Asheville women's swimming program is a CSCAA Scholar All-American team for the spring 2016 semester. This marks the eighth consecutive semester the Bulldogs have been honored as a Scholar All-American team.
The CSCAA presents Team Scholar All-American awards to college and university swimming teams who have achieved a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.00 or higher for a semester.
"It's an honor to be recognized for the eighth straight semester by the CSCAA as a Scholar All-America Team. I am proud of the way the team performed in the classroom and the pool during the Spring semester; they recognize the importance of being a life-long student. The team's cumulative 3.40 GPA included three 4.0's and ten 3.50 and higher GPAs,” head coach Elizabeth Lykins stated.
“I'd like to thank Rebecca Nelms and Dawn Turner for their assistance with the swimming team and our students' academic goals and progress. Both ladies provide support, resources and knowledge to all team members, especially those needing additional attention for success.”
The Bulldogs finished the spring semester with a 3.40 team GPA, as they have now been honored in each semester of the program's existence.
