ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville baseball team hits the road for a pair of midweek contests, beginning Tuesday night at Furman before a Wednesday neutral site game against Appalachian State that will be played in Forest City, N.C. at McNair Field.
NOTABLES
Solid Rotation: The Bulldogs saw all three weekend starters turn in eight inning performances last weekend, with Joe Zayatz striking out seven batters Friday night, Jordan Fulbright recording six strikeouts and a three-strikeout afternoon from Jordan Carr.
Swinging the Bat: Joe Tietjen has tallied a team best .462 batting average, driving in 19 RBIs, five doubles and three home runs. Pete Guy has seen six of his nine total hits turn into home runs while driving in 13 RBIs.
Putting Up Numbers: Asheville has scored 69 total runs through the first 10 games of the season, tallying 21 doubles, 12 home runs and 62 RBIs. The Bulldogs have allowed 69 runs as well, with 12 of those opponent runs having come in the ninth inning of games.
