Bulldogs trek to Appalachian State for Midweek Matchup

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville begins a busy week on the road starting Tuesday afternoon when the Bulldogs make the short trip to take on Appalachian State with a 4:00 p.m. start.
The Bulldogs lost four games last week at home, beginning last Tuesday against Tennessee to go along with a Big South series loss to High Point. Appalachian State went 1-3 in four road games last week, winning Tuesday at North Carolina A&T before losing three games at Texas State over the weekend.
NOTABLES
We Meet Again: Tuesday will be the second matchup between the teams this season, with Appalachian State winning 8-0 back on March 8 in Forest City, N.C. In that game, Appalachian State used a five-run seventh inning to gain breathing room. Asheville had four players collect one hit each, with Lucas Owens tallying a double playing in his hometown, while Pete Guy, Joe Tietjen and Scott Kobos each added a hit as well.

Guy is also No. 7 nationally with 22 drawn walks, and is ninth in the country at drawing walks, averaging 1.16 walks per game.
Eagle Eye, Bulls Eye: As a team, the Bulldogs have drawn 104 walks, second the league in the category and ranking 158th nationally. Asheville also has a knack for getting hit, with its 27 total hit batters this season ranked 28th nationally.
