Men's Tennis Prepares for Saturday Match with USC

Asheville Looks to Stay Clean in Conference Play at Coastal Carolina

             Coastal Carolina University (9-2, 1-0 BSC)

Location: Coastal Carolina Tennis Complex/ Conway, S.C.

CONWAY– The UNC Asheville Men's Tennis team travels to Conway, S.C. to face Coastal Carolina University where the two teams will put undefeated conference records on the line in a Sunday match-up.

 

NOTABLES

Head-to-Head: The Bulldogs and the Chanticleers last met in the 2015 season, where Coastal delivered a 5-2 win over Asheville on their home court. The Bulldogs won two-of-three doubles matches to take an early lead, but Coastal controlled singles play with five victories to seal the match.

 

Last Time Out: The Bulldogs' last match was their conference opener against Liberty University on March 5. Asheville outlasted Liberty to pick up their first conference victory of the season (4-3). The Bulldogs dropped the doubles point to the Flames, but rallied back with four singles wins from Henry Patten (6-0, 6-1), Josh Swindler (7-5, 6-1), Olly Cull (7-6, 6-1) and Thomas Orestis-Panoulas (7-5, 6-2) to take the match.

 

Scouting Coastal: The Chanticleers also opened conference play with a win, and are currently on a three game win-streak. Coastal's 6-1 conference victory came against Longwood University in Conway on February 13. The Chanticleers' only two losses this season came against William & Mary (Jan. 31) and Duke University (Feb. 27).
