Men's Tennis Travels to Furman On Wednesday

GREENVILLE – The UNC Asheville Men's Tennis team travels to Greenville, South Carolina to face the Furman Paladins on Wednesday, February 10 at 3:00 p.m.
NOTABLES
Head-to-Head- The last time the two teams met, the Bulldogs traveled to Greenville in March of 2012 and brought home a 4-3 win over the Paladins. Wednesday's match will be the tenth meeting for the two programs, Furman leading the overall series, 8-1.
Senior Spotlight: Two of Asheville's three season wins have been decided by one point. In both of those matches (Appalachian State and Tennessee Tech), senior Brett Landau turned in critical singles wins to lift the Bulldogs to victory. In Sunday's win over Tennessee Tech, Landau delivered a clutch performance for a two-set win (6-4, 6-4) on court five that decided the match for the Bulldogs.
- In the Bulldogs' two home wins over the weekend, freshman Henry Patten went perfect in both singles and doubles play. In Saturday's match against Wofford, Patten started the day with a 6-4 doubles victory with his partner Josh Swindler. In singles play, he defeated Wofford's David Sklar in three sets, (4-6, 7-5, 10-4). In Sunday's 4-3 victory over Tennessee tech, Patten and Swindler collected a 6-4 doubles win. In singles play, Patten handily defeated Nicolas Guillermo on court three for Asheville's first singles win, 6-0, 6-0.

On Furman- "I think this match will be our toughest opponent yet. Furman is always a very well coached team, but I know our guys are excited about the challenge."
