ASHEVILLE – The UNC Asheville Women's Basketball team welcomes Charleston Southern University on Tuesday, March 1 for their last regular season game held inside Kimmel Arena.

The Bulldogs will play their final regular season game against High Point on Saturday, March 5 in the Justice Center as part of a “Back to Justice” 80's night.

NOTABLES

Head-to-Head: The first time these two teams met in early January, the Bulldogs collected an eight-point victory to take over first place in the conference. Asheville was down five at the half, but sparked a 7-2 run in the opening 1:40 of the second half to get back the game. The Bulldogs were able to outscore the Bucs 20-15 in the fourth quarter to produce an eight-point win.

CSU's Last Time Out: Charleston Southern is coming off of a 78-72 loss to High Point University this past Saturday in the Buc Dome. The Panthers went on an 11-2 run in the fourth quarter to outlast the Bucs in their last game at home this season.

Rotating the Rock- This season the Asheville offense has relied on their offensive depth to maintain consistency. The Bulldogs have had a different leading scorer in five of their last six games, and have had as many as four Bulldogs in double-figures in a single game this season.

Offensively Speaking- The Bulldogs lead the Big South Conference in scoring margin with an average of 68.4 points per game, and field goal percentage at 41.8 percent. Asheville has led the Big South conference in as many as seven categories at once this season.

QUOTABLES FROM HEAD COACH BRENDA MOCK KIRKPATRICK

On Last Week- “After a week of not getting the results we are capable of, we need to get back to playing Asheville basketball. This league is extremely competitive and no team can afford to have an off night and expect to get away with it. We had to be accountable for why we were not at our best and last night we had a very competitive practice.”

On Charleston Southern- “We need to build on last night today in practice and get ready for another talented team in Charleston Southern. They play hard, and similar to us have steadily improved under Coach Aplin. No matter the outcome our kids have made a commitment to playing team basketball for the rest of the season with a positive attitude and maximum effort."
