QUOTABLES FROM HEAD COACH ELIZABETH LYKINS
On Winter Training- “We came back for our second session of winter training on January 2 and everyone came back in really good shape. I feel that almost everyone took advantage of their time at home to stay fit and prepare for Championship Season.”
On the Meet- “Today they did a great job of finishing their races. It might not have been a lifetime best swim, but they did a great job of closing and racing to the finish, and you don't see that a lot when teams are tired, that can be one of the first things to go. So I'm really proud of their finishing speed today. Georgia Southern is a good team, and they are just a little stronger than us at the moment. We will be more competitive with them come Conference Championship time.”
On Looking Forward- “We will continue to fine tune from here. We've got some illnesses and injuries that we are recovering from. Unfortunately, we had to swim today's meet without seven people, and that was a challenge for us but everyone else did a great job of stepping up in swimming events that maybe they don't always do. We want to get everyone healthy and ready to race again.”
UP NEXT
-Following this weekend's swimming, the Bulldogs will return to pool on the road at Liberty University on January 16 at 5:00 p.m. for a two day meet.
