Bulldogs Welcome Georgia Southern in CCSA Dual Meet

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After a six-week break from competition for winter training, the UNC Asheville Women's swimming team returns to Justice Center Pool for a head-to-head conference matchup with Georgia Southern.
NOTABLES
CCSA matchup: After three dual meets, Asheville (2-1) sits directly in the middle of the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association in sixth place of 11 teams. Georgia Southern is currently ranked slightly ahead of the Bulldogs in third place within the CCSA with a record of 2-0.
Stacking the Deck: Within the CCSA, Asheville has three swimmers in the top 25 for the 200 yard backstroke. Leading the way for the Bulldogs is Emily Werth, cracking the top 10 in eighth place with a time of 2:04.25. She is joined in the top 25 by Alejandra Sanchez Garcia (2:05.66) in 14th, and Emma Nelson (2:09.07) in 24th.
Fresh Start: Through three dual meets this season, freshman, Morgan Rulevich has a team-high seven individual wins and holds three individual team records in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle and 200 yard Individual Medley.
Relay Talented: Asheville ranks sixth in the league in the 200 yard Freestyle relay with a season-best time of 1:36.42 which they achieved at the Georgia Tech Invitational earlier this year. The Bulldogs rank eighth in the 400 yard freestyle with a time of 3:35.02 from the Carolinas Invitation.
Senior Status: Within the CCSA, senior Galen Broido ranks sixth in the 1650 yard freestyle (17:13.96), tenth in the 500 yard freestyle (5:01.82), tenth in the 1000 yard freestyle (10:35.53), and tenth in the 400 IM (4:30.89).

UP NEXT
- Following Saturday's dual meet, Asheville heads to Lynchburg, V.A. to compete in a two day conference meet at Liberty University on January 16 and 17. The meet will begin at 5:30 on Saturday evening.
