ROCK HILL – The UNC Asheville Women's Basketball team has a one day turnaround as they travel to Rock Hill, S.C. to face the Winthrop Eagles on Monday, February 1 at 7:00p.m. for the second time this season.

NOTABLES

Head-to-Head- Tomorrow's game will be the 69th meeting between the two teams. After Asheville handed Winthrop a (63-55) loss earlier this season in Kimmel Arena, the Eagles have a 39-29 lead over the Bulldogs in the overall series.

Flashback to '15- The Bulldogs last played the Eagles on December 29, 2015. Asheville defended their home court with a nine-point win that gave them their third straight conference victory. The Bulldogs remain tied at number one in the conference, and will need a win tomorrow night to stay in contention for first place.

Spreading the Love- One of Asheville's greatest strengths is their depth of players who can score the basketball. In Saturday's win over Radford, Asheville had three Bulldogs with 13 points, Chatori Major, Tianna Knuckles and Khaila Webb. So far this season, Asheville had outscored their opponents in bench points in all but three conference games (Campbell, Liberty and Presbyterian).

Major Player: In Asheville's last meeting with Winthrop, junior Chatori Major had a career night with 28 points, five rebounds and one steal, which earned her Big South Conference player of the week honors for the week of January 2. Since that conference win, Major has moved into a key scoring role on the team.  She and Knuckles lead the Bulldog offense averaging 13.4 points per game apiece.

QUOTEABLES FROM HEAD COACH BRENDA KIRKPATRICK

On Winthrop- "This is a quick one day turnaround for everyone in the conference this week. Winthrop is one of the toughest places to play in the league and they have continued to get better despite injuries throughout the season. We will need to take care of the ball and defend in transition, in addition to having solid contributions on both ends from numerous people to maximize our depth. We are excited about the challenge and another opportunity to get better. Which has been our focus all season long.”
