Bulldogs Win Fifth Straight to Close UNC Asheville Invitational

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Bulldog volleyball team wrapped up the 2015 UNC Asheville Invitational with another victory, winning all four matches over the three day tournament, after concluding the weekend with a 3-1 victory over South Carolina State on Saturday night.
THE TURNING POINT
After a tight, three-point first set victory, Asheville came out and dominated set two, winning the set 25-11 and finishing with 10 kills and just one error in the set.
NOTABLES
-Two Bulldogs finished with double-digit kills in the win – Cat Fischer and Cameron Pryor (11 each).
-Madison Vaughn finished with four service aces in the victory.
-A pair of Bulldogs – Amanda Powers (26) and Katie Davis (17) – finished with double-digit assists in the victory.
-Cat Fischer was named to the All-Tournament team following the weekend, while Cameron Pryor was named the tournament's MVP.
-Also on the All-Tournament Team: Savanna Blackiston (AAMU), Megan Sowell (Citadel), Melanie Williams (S.C. State), Kaitlyn Grice (New Orleans).
-Asheville is now 4-0 all-time against South Carolina State.
-The Bulldogs have now won five consecutive matches.
