ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team came from behind to win the third and fourth sets Friday night as they beat The Citadel, 3-1, to wrap up the second day of the UNC Asheville Invitational.
THE TURNING POINT
Knotted at 1-1, the Bulldogs came out of the break on a tear on their way to grabbing the four-set victory, their third straight win.
NOTABLES
-A pair of Bulldogs – Cat Fischer and Shelby Erickson – each finished with 11 kills in the victory.
-Two Bulldogs finished with double-digit assists in the win – Amanda Powers (32) and Katie Davis (21).
-Bryn Pfeiffer had a match-high 17 digs in the victory, as Chrissy Lakatos also added 10 digs.
-Three of Asheville's four wins this season have been won in four sets.
-Asheville is now 4-0 all-time against The Citadel.
-The 4-3 record through seven games this season is Asheville's best mark since they opened the 2009 season 5-2.
