ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Former UNC Asheville baseball pitcher Ryan Dull has been called up by the Oakland Athletics and will join the team's Major League roster for tonight's game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Dull's arrival on the A's roster makes him the third UNC Asheville alum to make it to the major league level, joining Ty Wigginton and Kevin Mattison. Dull becomes the first Bulldog pitcher in program history to make it to the majors with his arrival in Oakland.

The promotion is Dull's second in as many months after he was promoted to Triple-A Nashville on August 7. Dull began the year at Double-A Midland, earning an All-Star selection at that level before being moved up to Nashville.

In 12 appearances in Nashville, Dull notched a 1.13 ERA in 16 innings of work with 21 strikeouts. The right-hander allowed just two runs in those 12 appearances and held opponents to a .172 batting average.

Over the entire season, he has collected a 3-2 record and a 0.74 ERA between Nashville and Midland with 12 saves and 73 strikeouts. He has allowed five combined runs between the two levels and opponents are hitting just .180 against him this season.

Oakland sits at 58-74 overall entering the night. Dull is expected to be available to pitch out of the bullpen in tonight's game.
