FLORENCE, S.C. – On the road for the first time in 2015, the UNC Asheville women's soccer team outshot Francis Marion 19-2 on the way to a 3-0 victory on Sunday afternoon.
THE TURNING POINT
Bethany Spano's put-back goal off of an initial Francis Marion save in the 33rd minute put the Bulldogs on the board and gave them a lead that would never be in doubt.
NOTABLES
-Asheville finished with a total of 19 shots (10 first half, 9 second half) and had seven corner kicks in the game, including six corners in the opening half.
-Freshman Justine James scored her third goal of the season in the 56th minute, assisted by Kennedy Garrett.
-Freshman Kyra Kandel finished with three shots off the bench, including the Bulldogs' final goal of the afternoon in the 78th minute.
-The match featured a 45 minute lightening delay early in the second half of action.
