ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Former UNC Asheville baseball player Ryan Dull was named to the Texas League's All-Star team, pitching in the Double-A minor league's exhibition contest on June 30.

Dull, who graduated from Asheville in 2012, is currently in his second season as a reliever for the Double-A Midland Rockhounds in the Oakland A's organization.

In the Texas League All-Star game on June 30, Dull pitched the sixth inning of the contest, allowing a leadoff hit before inducing a groundball double play later in the frame to erase the base runner.

Dull and the South All-Star roster lost to the North All-Stars 9-4.

So far in 2015, Dull has a 3-0 record and 0.24 ERA in 27 appearances, all out of the bullpen, including seven saves. In his 37 2/3 innings of work, he has allowed just one run and has struck out 43 batters while holding opponents to a .173 batting average.

Over his three and a half year career, Dull carries a career 15-11 record with 133 appearances, all out of the bullpen, with 185 2/3 total innings of work. He sports a current career ERA of 2.13 and has held opponents to a .214 batting average over that span.

Dull and the Rockhounds finished the First Half of the Texas League season in second place in the South Division, and currently lead the South Division in Second Half action through July 7.

The Rockhounds were the Texas League Champions last season, with Dull appearing in five of the team's playoff games, earning a win in his four-plus innings of relief.
