Bulldogs Celebrate Graduating Seniors on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Athletic Department was proud to see 31 of its student-athletes receive their diplomas at the graduation ceremony held Saturday morning on the campus quad.
“What an exciting day this is,” stated UNC Asheville Athletics Director Janet Cone. “We talk about Champions and Leaders, but today we have student-athletes getting a championship – their diplomas. I can't tell you how proud we are of our Bulldogs!”
The 31 student-athletes on Saturday featured seven Bulldogs who graduated Cum laude (3.600+ GPA) – Kasey Briggs (Women's Cross Country/Track), Hunter Bryant (Baseball), Joseph Cutting (Men's Soccer), Heather Muller (Women's Soccer), John Schubel (Men's Tennis), Amryn Soldier (Women's Tennis) and Leah Wormack (Women's Basketball).
Three student-athletes – Jeannie Buckner (Women's Basketball), Adrian Etheridge (Women's Cross Country/Track) and Tacey Trammell (Women's Basketball) – graduated Magna Cum laude, holding a 3.750 GPA or higher.
Nine Bulldogs graduated with Departmental Distinctions: Adrian Etheridge (Art), Jeannie Buckner (Biology), Heather Muller (Biology), Leah Wormack (Chemistry), Megan Foster (Health & Wellness Promotion/Women's Soccer), Tacey Trammell (Health & Wellness Promotion), Joseph Cutting (Management & Accounting), John Schubel (Management & Accounting), and Christine Boissevain (Sociology/Women's Tennis).
Named as University Scholars were: Adrian Etheridge, Heather Muller and Amryn Soldier.
Named as University Research Scholars were: Jeannie Buckner, Adrian Etheridge and Leah Wormack.
Named as a Community Engaged Scholar was Adrian Etheridge.
