The Bulldogs (20-26) enter tonight's game on a two-game winning streak, while Carolina (29-16) has had a week off since their last game, a home loss to UNC Greensboro.

For North Carolina, tonight's game against Asheville continues their season schedule against Big South Conference teams, with the Tar Heels having already played Liberty, Coastal Carolina, Gardner-Webb, High Point and Campbell. To date, the Big South as a league is 13-14 overall against ACC opponents but just 1-5 against UNC.

Asheville scored 20 runs in Friday night's home win, their most runs since plating 33 in 2008, before grabbing a road victory in Cullowhee on Saturday night.

The Tar Heels were idle last weekend, but lost last Tuesday to UNC Greensboro. UNC is 6-2 in their last eight games, dating back to the originally scheduled April 15 contest against the Bulldogs.

Asheville features a non-conference record above .500 (16-12), and has been outstanding with the lead after six innings, notching a 16-3 record to date in that situation.
