Bulldogs Return Home to Host Eagles Tonight

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville baseball team returns home to Greenwood Field for the first time in over two weeks tonight as they welcome the North Carolina Central Eagles to town for a 6 p.m. midweek contest.
Tonight's game marks the first time the Bulldogs (16-24) have played at home since an April 8 contest against Wofford. The Dogs have played 14 of their last 15 games on the road and were 4-11 over that span.
North Carolina Central is 19-20 on the year overall and have played their last six contests at home, going 3-3 over that span. The Eagles are 6-10 on the road this season.
The Bulldogs enter tonight's game hitting .241 as a team with a 5.90 team ERA. Tommy Houmard leads the team with a .327 batting average and Hunter Bryant ranks second with a .322 average and a team-high 30 RBI.
North Carolina Central is looking for their second victory against a Big South Conference opponent this season, having beaten Gardner-Webb back in March. The Eagles also dropped a game to Big South member Charleston Southern in March. After tonight's game against the Bulldogs, North Carolina Central will still have contests Big South members High Point, Presbyterian and Campbell.
The Eagle hitters have combined for a .251 batting average and are led by Devin Sweet, who has a .350 average in 18 games played. Among regulars, Carlos Ortiz leads the team with a .326 batting average and a team-high 28 RBI. The pitching staff sports a 3.70 team ERA and opponents are hitting .264 against them.
Left-hander Jordan Quinn will get the start for the Eagles, entering the night with a 3-5 record and a 4.30 ERA. The Bulldog will send left-hander Spencer Orr to the mound, who enters tonight with a 3-0 record and a 4.18 ERA. Orr will be making his fifth start of the year and his 10th overall appearance.

-The Bulldogs are 10-1 when out-hitting their opponents this season, just 5-22 when being out-hit.
