Bulldogs Travel to take on Tar Heels Wednesday Night

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville baseball team baseball team continues its seven-game road trip on Wednesday night when the Bulldogs to take on North Carolina at 6 p.m. at Boshamer Stadium.

Looking broader than the current seven-game road trip, Asheville (16-21) will play its 12th road game in their last 13 contests when they take on Carolina (23-14) tonight.
For North Carolina, tonight's game against Asheville continues their season schedule against Big South Conference teams, with the Tar Heels having already played Liberty, Coastal Carolina, Gardner-Webb and High Point. To date, the Big South as a league is 12-10 overall against ACC opponents but just 1-5 against UNC.
The Bulldogs are 6-8 overall on the road so far this season, and are coming off a three-game Big South Conference series sweep at Presbyterian College this past weekend. The Tar Heels are coming off a weekend that saw them take two of three games at home against ACC foe N.C. State, and a Tuesday night contest against High Point that featured a lengthy rain delay before being called in the sixth inning as an official game and 1-0 UNC victory.
Asheville features a non-conference record above .500 (13-12), and has been outstanding with the lead after six innings, notching a 13-2 record to date in that situation.
Left-hander Spencer Orr will get the start for the Bulldogs, entering with a 3-0 record with a 4.50 ERA in eight total appearances (four starts). Opponents are hitting .255 against him with eight extra-base hits in Orr's 26 innings of work (25 total hits).
The Bulldogs enter the game against the Tar Heels hitting .239 as a team with a 5.78 team ERA. Joe Zayatz leads the team with a .318 batting average and Hunter Bryant ranks second with a .314 average and a team-high 28 RBI.
Entering Tuesday's game with High Point, Korey Dunbar leads North Carolina with a .308 batting average, followed by Landon Lassiter's .291 average. Tyler Ramierez leads the Tar Heels with 30 RBI.
The North Carolina coaching staff is undecided on their starter for tonight's game.
