Women's Basketball Seeded 8th/Faces Coastal Carolina on Tuesday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team is seeded eighth in the 2015 Big South Conference Championships and will face ninth-seeded Coastal Carolina on its home floor in the first round of the tournament Tuesday night at 8 p.m.

The Bulldogs (8-21) enter the tournament on a roll after downing the Chanticleers 87-54 on Saturday in Conway. Shonese Jones led Asheville with a season-high 27 points. She scored 20 in the opening half.

Tuesday's winner faces top-seeded Liberty Thursday at Noon in the quarterfinals.

This is just the fifth meeting between the teams in Big South Tournament play. Coastal Carolina holds a 3-2 advantage though the Bulldogs won the last meeting in the quarterfinals of the 2007 tourney when they rallied past the Chanticleers, 65-51 at Justice Center en route to the championship.
