ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team puts its six-game winning streak on the line at home inside Kimmel Arena on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. when they welcome UNC Greensboro to town. This Thursday the Bulldogs are also hosting the Eblen St. Nicholas project Toy Drive. Fans will receive free admission with the donation of a $10 unwrapped toy.

 

NOTABLES

Bulldogs Starting Strong: The Bulldogs have strung together six consecutive victories for the first time under fourth-year head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick. This is also the best start for the Bulldogs since becoming an NCAA Division I program. The next current longest winning streak in the Big South Conference behind the Bulldogs is High Point with two straight victories.

 

Scoring Big: Asheville has outscored their opponents by 156 points on their current win streak. The Bulldogs lead the Big South in Scoring Offense (77.4 points per game), field goal percentage (43.6%) and 3-point field goal percentage (35.6).

 

Fresh Faces: In Saturday's win against Warren Wilson College, all five freshman scored and combined for 46 of the teams' total 108 points, 42 percent of the total scoring. Asheville was led by two freshmen, Sonora Dengokl with 17 points, and Kelli Fisher with 16 points. Dengokl and Fisher also led the team in rebounds with eight each in the Saturday victory.
