ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville junior guard Ja'Da Brayboy has been named College Sports Madness' Big South Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the publication announced today. The honor goes to a Bulldog player for the second consecutive week after Tianna Knuckles earned the recognition last week.

The Charlotte, N.C. native finished with 20 total points in Asheville's two wins last week, including a Big South Conference road matchup at Coastal Carolina. Brayboy finished 10-of-12 from the free throw stripe in 63 total minutes of action, pulling down 12 rebounds and adding nine assists and four steals to her week.

Brayboy and the Bulldogs are 9-1 on the season and are looking to make program history with a 10th consecutive victory on Monday when they take on Clemson at noon. Asheville will take a short break for the holidays after today's game and be back in action at home on December 29 when they continue Big South play against Winthrop.
