CONWAY, S.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team is back in action on the road at Coastal Carolina Monday night, where they look to continue their seven-game win streak in their second Big South Conference game of the season.
For fans at home, Asheville is hosting a watch party in the Mission Health Mountain View Conference Room on the concourse of the Wilma M. Sherrill Center. Fans can cheer on the Bulldogs and enjoy some fried chicken during the game.
NOTABLES
Fighting for First: On the line Monday night is a chance for the Bulldogs to jump out to a 2-0 conference start and tie current Big South Conference leader High Point atop the standings. Going into Monday night's game, they share second place with Campbell at 1-0. Asheville's overall record of 7-1 is tops in the conference to date.
Sharp Shooters: Asheville and Coastal are number one and two in the conference for scoring offense, averaging 79.6 points and 75.0 points per game, respectively. The Bulldogs also lead the Big South Conference in field goal percentage at 44.3% just edging out Coastal in the number two spot at 42.4%. Asheville's high scoring offense is led by Tianna Knuckles (15.9 ppg) and Chatori Major (10.0 ppg).
Road Warriors: The Bulldogs open the Big South Conference season with five of six games on the road. Following Monday's matchup in Conway, Asheville returns home to the Kimmel Arena on Monday, December 29 to play Winthrop before a string of three away games in January.
