ASHEVILLE, N.C. – With their dominating, 95-52 victory over UNC Greensboro on Thursday night, the UNC Asheville women's basketball team has run its winning streak to seven consecutive games. Here's a look at seven facts about the seven-game winning streak.
The Bulldogs look to continue their winning streak on the road Monday night when they travel to Conway, South Carolina to take on Coastal Carolina in the final conference matchup at the beach between the teams. Coastal Carolina departs the Big South Conference following this academic year.

Hot Shots: Asheville is shooting 44 percent from the field as a team. This is the most efficient offense the Bulldogs have had since the arrival of head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick. Kelli Fisher is the team's most efficient offensive weapon, averaging 81 percent from the field this season.
Unsurpassed Start: This 7-1 start is the best start for the Bulldogs since becoming an NCAA Division I program. The only time the Asheville program has had a better start to a season was the 1984-85 campaign that started 9-1 while the Bulldogs still competed at the NAIA level. The Bulldogs' NAIA National Championship season in 1983-84 opened with just a 3-2 start before going on to win it all.
Lucky Number Seven: In addition to building a seven-game win streak, Asheville leads the Big South Conference in seven different team statistical categories, including: scoring offense, scoring margin, field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage, turnover margin, three-point field goals made, and assist-to-turnover ratio.
Doubling Down: The Bulldogs have two players averaging double figures this season. The team's leading scorer, Tianna Knuckles, is averaging 15.9 points per game on 45 percent shooting from the field, while Chatori Major averages 10 points per game on 41 percent shooting.
Bouncing Back: The 7-1 start to this season is only four wins shy of Asheville's best campaign under head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick. Asheville's best season in the last four years under Kirkpatrick was an 11 win season in 2013-14 (11-20). The Bulldogs are just two wins shy of matching last year's final victory total (9-22).
Fresh Faces: The Bulldogs are getting scoring efforts from all over the place, including their five freshmen. In last Saturday's win over Warren Wilson College, all five freshman scored and combined for 46 of the teams' total 108 points. Asheville was led by two freshmen, Sonora Dengokl with 17 points, and Kelli Fisher with 16 points. Dengokl and Fisher also led the team in rebounds with eight each in the Saturday victory.
Tops in the Big South: In the middle of the Bulldogs' seven-game winning streak was their road victory over Presbyterian in the Big South Conference opener. Asheville has won its conference opener the last three seasons and currently sit in a three-way tie atop the standings heading into Monday night's game at Coastal Carolina.
