ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team will travel to open Big South Conference play on Monday night at Presbyterian College looking to push their winning streak to five straight games.
The Bulldogs are looking to open their Big South Conference schedule with a victory for the third consecutive season after beginning conference play with wins over Charleston Southern the last two seasons. The two teams split the season series last year with each winning on its home floor.
NOTABLES
Bulldogs are getting it done: The Bulldogs have rolled off four consecutive victories for the first time under fourth-year head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick. Previously, Asheville had had four different two-game winning streaks over the last three-plus seasons.
Scoring Well: Through the first five games, Asheville has outscored opponents by an average of 16.0 points and is shooting 42 percent as a team while defensively holding opponents to 35 percent shooting to date.
Leading the Charge: Tianna Knuckles is the only Bulldog to average double-digit scoring numbers, averaging 16.0 points through five games. K.J. Weaver's 7.4 rebounds per game average leads Asheville in that category.
